Risk Management Solutions (RMS), a risk modeling company based in Newark, California, has recently awarded EERI’s World Housing Encyclopedia project a $50,000 grant to support the Confined Masonry Network.
The RMS funding is being used to support Phase I of the project, focusing on developing the technical materials and groundwork necessary to implement confined masonry more widely. Funding is supporting several working groups: 1) a small group of experts to peer-review the existing construction guidelines and develop a template for a new global construction guideline, 2) a small working group that is developing an international design guideline, and 3) a working group that is developing a research agenda.
